How it works
Three steps, from notebook pages to a laid table.
One cookbook instead of notebooks, clippings and saved links. Categories, favorites and search on the home screen.
Photo, category, ingredients and steps. If a dish has several parts, each part gets a block of its own.
Tap the ingredients and steps as you go, even with the whole recipe on one page. At the end, an “Enjoy your meal!” awaits.

To log in, your phone works out a separate key from it.
Your recipes survive a new password. There is no back door.
We don't build a profile of you. The website has no cookies either.

A recipe keeper app for Android: your own digital cookbook. Collect your own recipes with ingredients, steps and photos, sorted into categories. It's not a recipe site: there are no ready-made recipes and no ads, only your recipes.
Yes, completely free, with no ads and no subscription.
All your recipes are in one place, and you can search them by name or ingredient, accents optional. Unlike a notebook, it doesn't get splashed and has room for photos; unlike recipe sites, it has no ads and doesn't vanish when a site shuts down. You can paste an ingredient list copied from elsewhere in one go: the app splits it into rows and sets the amounts apart.
Start it as a simple recipe, then tap “Made of several parts?”. Each part - say, meatballs and tomato sauce - gets its own ingredients and steps, and shows up on the recipe page as a separate block in its own color. To see the ingredients and the steps on one page, part by part, turn on Recipe on one page in the Kitchen section of Settings.
Yes. When a step mentions a time, like “10 minutes”, one tap starts a timer for it; there are quick and custom timers too, and you can name them. Up to four can run at once, and the screen stays on while one runs. When one is up, a dialog appears in the middle of whichever screen you're on: give it another minute, or stop it.
Yes. Your recipes are on your phone too, so you can read and edit them without internet, and the changes sync the next time you're online. Log in on another phone or tablet and all your recipes are there too.
No. Recipes, photos and categories are encrypted on your phone before they are sent to us. The server only holds unreadable data; even we can't see what you cook.
Not yet: mabor is your own private cookbook, with no social feed or public profile. You can save all your recipes to a file any time, though.
Yes. The app is dark by default, but you can switch it to light with the Light mode switch in the Kitchen section of Settings.
Not yet. mabor is coming soon to Android phones and tablets, on Google Play. If enough people ask for it, we'll make an iPhone version too.
When you sign up, you get a recovery key. With it - and a code sent by email - you can set a new password and keep your recipes. You can reset your password without the key too, but then your encrypted recipes are lost, because we can't unlock them either. On Android the app also keeps the key on your phone, so “Forgot password?” fills it in by itself there; still, keep your own copy.
Yes. In Settings, Export recipes saves all your recipes, categories and photos to a ZIP file in one tap. In the same place, at the bottom of the page, you can delete your account with all its data, instantly.
English and Hungarian. On first launch the app picks your phone's language, and you can switch any time in Settings. Your recipes stay exactly as you wrote them.
Into categories, like Soups or Desserts: each gets its own icon and color, and a recipe can belong to more than one category. Mark your favorites with the heart icon. On the home screen, one tap filters to a category or to your favorites.
Free, made in Hungary, no ads. And it stays yours.
